The first SYSBIO.IT model published on Nature Communications

SYSBIO.IT is proud to announce the publication of a mathematical dynamic model of the basic molecular mechanism controlling the G1/S transition of the cell cycle. The paper was published on Nature Communications on April 20th, 2016.

It’s the first, complete systems biology paper of SYSBIO.IT, involving both computational and experimental aspects. The model describe a complex biological functions, and was build with a iterative collaboration between experimental and modeling teams. This result was possible thanks to some papers published by SYSBIO members in the years.

The quality of the research was rewarded with a publication on a top-level journal like Nature Communications (IF: 11.47; 3/56 Multidisciplinary Sciences)

Diffusion and Impact

Contemporary science must be responsible to citizens, to the national and international communities that finances it. SYSBIO disseminates the results obtained and shares the concepts developed through specialized and non-specialist events. Seminars often involve people who are far from systems biology, but important to understand topics such as, for instance, complexity and epistemology.
